I started off the year being on maternity leave, which gave me some valuable time to think about what I really want to focus on in my personal life and in my work life. Finding the right balance is key for all of us, but it’s not always easy to achieve. My theme for this year is to stay true to myself, to set boundaries and to only do what feels good inside. Lately, I’ve read and re-read a lot of Brene Brown’s books that have always inspired me to live authentically and to be honest about who I am. Connecting with you – my yoga community – is truly important to me, and that’s why I’m back in your inbox with this newsletter.

Welcoming a new season
As we move into the season of Fall, we’re all presented with the opportunity to look inwards and reflect on what we’re willing to – or need to – let go off to liveand be our true self. Just like trees, Fall is the season for us to shed our leaves and make room for new growth. Maybe it’s a job or a responsibility that is no longer serving you. Maybe it’s a friend who you don’t have anything in common with anymore. Maybe it’s a habit that you know isn’t helping you to be the best version of yourself. The Jivamukti “Focus of the Month” for October is Mauna (Silence) is Golden (written by Sandy King). Very fitting for this season, and an interesting topic to explore at home and in class.

We’re coming closer to the end of the year, and one thing that helps me through the darker months is to plan ahead – to have something to look forward to on the “other side”. I’m very pleased to be hosting another four-day yoga retreat on the tranquil and scenic island of Møn in early June 2020. If you’d like to join me, book your space now.
